Cherry Smoothie Bowls

Perfectly creamy, cherry smoothie bowls.

Happy June!

Summer is officially here so I am all about fresh new recipes and smoothie bowls are at the top of my list. They’re my current obsession. There are so many different flavor combinations and an endless possibility of toppings. It would be nearly impossible to get sick of them. Crazy delicious AND they make for really pretty photos. It’s a win/win.

The key to these is getting just the right consistency. Not too thick, not too watery. This recipe is just right! For this recipe, I came across a smoothie bowl recipe from Kohl’s in my Food Network Magazine and modified it just a little bit. The flavor of the almond extract is the perfect partner for the cherries. The frozen banana keeps it creamy and holds the smoothie together without the watered down mess that ice would give you. This sweet, creamy smoothie base pairs perfectly with an assortment of toppings. Personally, my favorite smoothie bowl toppings are nuts, granola, coconut and chia seeds.

I can’t get over how pretty these are. Almost too pretty to eat … almost.

It really couldn’t be more simple or more delicious! They are super easy to make in the morning before work but also make a really fun weekend breakfast that you can enjoy outside.

So add this super yummy recipe to your repertoire and share your photos on instagram using #cupcakesncornbreadblog

Y’all come back!
